Various work has included:-
- Extensive Master Control Room engineering for BBC Resources, (using BNCS systems) and ABC News Intercontinental, (using Omnibus systems).
- Satellite uplinking and downlinking for the busy teleports of Globecast Northern Europe and Telenor(UK).
- Installation, testing and operation at several major events for various international broadcasters, (see below).

  Feb 06 EBU Sports Operations, Employed in the offices of the EBU at the International Broadcast Centre, (IBC), Turin for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Responsibilities included operation and troubleshooting the installation of the EBU’s equipment along with feeds to it’s members, (both within the IBC and out to it’s members home countries).
     
  Aug 04 EBU Sports Operations, Working in the EBU MCR serving the EBU's 40 plus members within the IBC and it's many other members located throughout Europe for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
     
  Jun 04 EBU Sports Operations/EBS, Working in the host broadcaster MCR on the installation and operation of the equipment, along with management of the 8 strong operations team for the Euro2004 European Football Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.
     
  Jul/Aug 02 BBC Host Broadcaster, Installation, fault finding, operation and maintenance of the IBC master control room from where the world's broadcasters received their images of the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
     
  May/Jul 02 ITV Sport, Part of a small team responsible for the construction of ITV's facility in the IBC Seoul, for their World Cup 2002 coverage. Subsequently the same team took on operational rolls, working closely with the production team in Korea.
     
  Jan 02 EBU Sports Operations, Part of the small advance team doing installation, testing and subsequently operation and maintenance of the EBU's master control, dispatch and VTR areas in the Salt Lake City IBC for the 2002 Winter Olympic games.

  Jul 96 FORTO 96, European Football Championships. Working in the VANDA control area for FORTO 96, acting as host broadcaster for the 1996 European Football Championships.

Working in BBC Television Centre’s busy MCR, (CAR), and International Control rooms, (ICR), during a period of departmental restructuring involving the amalgamation of the above two areas.

July 1994 - Dec 1995                 Technical Supervisor,
Orbit Communications Company, (Italia) SpA

One of four supervisors of a multi-cultural team of twenty four people working in the entirely digital, (270MHz SDI / AES), MCR and Orbit’s Digital Betacam based VT area. I reported directly to the Chief Engineer and co-ordinated the MCR and VTR activities of the department on a shift basis. The job involved the management, training, appraisal and welfare of the shift team as a whole, as well as dealing with the range of problems that a start up operation of this scale presents.


Sept 1989 - July 1994                 Broadcast Engineer
BBC Studio and Network Engineering,

The job involved rotation between the operational areas of the Master, International and Network Control Rooms as well as a base maintenance area and two small, four-camera studios. Principle duties were electronic maintenance and operational engineering involving frequent periods of acting as the most senior engineer in any one of the above areas. My experience includes the 1992 UK General Election and the Albertville Olympic Games. As an engineer in Television Centre’s studio department I undertook electronic maintenance, line-up and colour balancing of up to eight cameras.
